From Wool to Critter by Megan Nedds
During this presentation, Megan will explain and demonstrate how she uses wool to create life-like animal sculptures using a process called needle felting. She will discuss the process, the materials, and will bring finished examples as well as demos.
Megan states: "I was born and raised in Marion, Ohio, and I graduated from The University of Findlay in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I started creating animal sculptures in 2012 using a process called needle felting, which involves sculpting wool using a felting needle. I create sculptures of my patron’s pets, as well as species of wild animals that they request. I live and work in Marion, Ohio as a full-time fiber artist, which consists of working on sculpture commissions, selling needle felting supplies, creating needle felting tutorials, and teaching in-person needle felting classes."
