“In the Spotlight”
Karen Gerken
Karen has been a member of the WRSW Guild since 2019. She served as president for the past two years. Her 2025 President Challenge
. . . will be showcased at the February 2026 meeting. The challenge could follow one of two paths – either to create a series of work that illustrates your own personal evolution in the fiber arts or alternatively, embed a coded message in your work. Whatever you choose, have fun with it!
Best regards,
Karen
Karen fosters pups for the blind until they are old enough to begin their training. We get to see her work “in action” at some of our SIG gatherings. Her latest pup is Peanut, is going through some harness training while traveling in New York.
Her love for fiber arts includes spinning and weaving. Karen states, “I have benefited from the Guild in so many ways. This welcoming and supportive group fostered my early interest in weaving and from there provided an entrance into the community of fiber artists both local and worldwide. I have learned so much!”
